The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe

This piece is based on a scene from The lion The Witch and The wardrobe, i decided to choose a scene to portray that wasn't obvious but still an important part to the film. I feel that using a limited colour palette has been very effective and will make the poster design stand out. I enjoy working with limited colour as it means you have to think carefully about what colours go where to create a striking image.

Autumn Days

This piece that i have just completed is for my cheltenham illustration awards entry. the brief was to look at tales of mood and memory, and look at gustavs holsts the planets. It is based on a memory from my childhood that is off my dad telling me this story which shows his memory and i really like the idea of the memory from a memory concept as it is a story of his that i heard many times so it is almost as if it it my own memory. Also when i listened to Holsts the planets : Saturn it was almost as if it was the soundtrack to this story. I created this piece on a3 plywood in gouache and used a limited contrasting colour palette. It was the first time i have painted on wood and i really enjoyed it and would defiantly consider using it again.
